Firearms stolen in home burglary

Burglars kicked in the front door of a home in the 100 block of Herman Street between 9:30 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. Thursday and stole two pistols, a shotgun and laser gun sight with a total value of $2,000, Athens-Clarke police said.

► A University of Georgia student reported someone kicked in the back door of her home in the 300 block of Best Drive between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 a.m.. Friday and stole two laptop computers, two iPods, a docking station, two televisions, two digital cameras, a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, video games and DVDs with a total value of $7,130 were stolen, police said.

► Thieves apparently entered an unlocked door of a home in the 200 block of Pine Forest Drive between 1:30 and 11:30 p.m. Thursday and stole a flat-screen TV and Xbox with a total value of $1,900, police said.
